{"An Invitation to Turn Aside" - from the Moms Against Manic Mondays archives}

Exodus 3:1-4 (amp)

"NOW MOSES kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the back or west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb or Sinai, the mountain of God.  The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed.  And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.  And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I."

I love this section of story.  It reminds me that there are times that God does not boldly, with booming voice, stop me in my path, forcing my attention to hear His message of love and/or direction.  Many times there is just simply an invitation to turn aside.  He delights when I notice what He has set in motion for me.  He delights when I am yielding my ear to be attentive to the stillness and smallness of His voice.  And when I don't?  He still delights in me and, "rejoices over me with singing," though I do not understand the faithfulness of Him to one who is not.  His faithfulness is unfair in that way.  But past an, "Oops, I missed that didn't I, Papa?  Please forgive me.  I want what you have for me..." if I dwell on guilt or disappointment, it wastes me...and there is no delight in that.  He is holy and yet His love and delight is so much more simple towards me than I used to believe it was.  The beauty of simplicity brings me to my knees.
He has something for you today.
Something special.  Simple.
An invitation.
Just to turn aside into His heart.
And He will see you when you do, and call your name.
Your name - spoken by the mouth of God; you are a word from heaven --

Isaiah 55:11-12

"So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.  For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."

I bless you today with eyes to see them and hearts to recognize them:  the blessings in disguise this day.  :)

Psalm 118:24 (amp)

"This is the day which the Lord has brought about;
we will rejoice and be glad in it!"

I desire to recognize what is my part of the "manic" in Mondays, and do what I can to change it.

I desire to live abundantly in the Mondays.
I desire to thrive in each day; to dance them in along with the sun.
