A Super-Woman is discouraged by failure
an Abiding Woman's failure reminds her that
God's strength is made perfect in weakness

While it is absolutely necessary to own up to our failures, especially when sin, asking forgiveness from God, and making amends if our mistakes concern others...

To dwell there, to set up camp amidst the failure, ignores the opportunity that also presents itself.

As creative beings (having been made in the image of our Creator) we are all artists.  Maybe not in the traditional definitions of art or artistic forms, but we were all made to create.

And as artists we must learn that even the failed pieces are essential.

In failure we are presented with opportunity to learn; to grow beyond our previous limitations.  Or rather what we thought they were.

I've read that in Native American tradition, the weavers purposefully leave a minor imperfection in one corner of every rug.
They believe that it is in the blemish that the spirit enters.

I really identify with those rugs.

For it's when I come to the end of myself, find myself at the bottom, there's only one direction to look: up.  And that's where I find my strength.  In Him I am truly made strong.  In my blemish, His Spirit enters.

    2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (amp)

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!  So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).

In that opportunity we're given the ability to create.  Create more.  Create what could not have been created... before.

    Matthew 10:39 (esv)

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and
whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

"We are going to suffer.  And it is going to shape us.  somehow.  We will become bitter or better, closed or open, more ignorant or more aware, more or less." -Rob Bell, Drops Like Stars

My prayer for you, my friends,
along with myself for this week is this:
Lord, help me see that everything has meaning.  You give it meaning.  Even in all the hardness.  In the errors and sin.  In the devastation, in suffering.  God, reuse and reshape all that goes awry within me and in my circumstances.  Allow me, help me, to see that You waste nothing.  Build and grow my faith, Jesus, as You show me how all of me is significant to You.  All of me is precious to You.  You see the finished work of the cross in me; Your original masterpiece.  Assist me, Holy Spirit, not to dwell in failure, but make Your strength perfect in me, in my weaknesses.  Thank you, thank you.  AMEN!!
