My Pregnancy Journal #24

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born, I set you apart.
Jeremiah 1:5

I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:27-28

“Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is placed in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse into the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it’s soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny, –she would see that in all God’s world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her.” -JR Miller

How far along are you?  24 weeks today!
Baby's growth?  Naomi should have gained an additional 4 ounces just since last week!  She's also almost a foot long - about the size of an ear of corn.  :)  She'll soon begin to plump up.   #ILoveBeingPregnant
Medical Stuff plus Prayer Requests: I still feel great, but...  My low back needs prayer. I may have a lumbar herniated disc. I've had one every pregnancy that has healed over time & with chiropractor assistance. I had L4 & L5 out of alignment a lot while I was a teenager (don't remember what initially caused it). I don't know if that made them more sensitive/susceptible during the physical changes of pregnancy or what, but whatever keeps repeatedly causing it needs to stop, and I need to be healed.  :)
Best moment this week?  Sleeping in until 10:30 on Sunday - I had a stomach virus over the weekend, so we stayed home from church.  My sweet husband quietly left the bedroom when the girls woke and closed the door behind him so I could get some much needed recovery rest.  :)
Cravings?  I have severely desired General Tso's Chicken over rice, with steamed dumplings and crab rangoon for an entire week.  I was thrilled that we were able to make that possible.
What made me cry this week?  My hormone levels have felt even this week, which is a HUGE answer to prayer.  It has just been my back hurting that has been the culprit of anything "emotional."
Sleep?  Sleep has been made more difficult due to being uncomfortable because of my low back.
Thoughts from the family?  My belly is a hand magnet.  :)
In addition?  I shared last week that I ordered these extraordinarily comfortable Reef Dream sandals, and was expecting them in the mail last week.  They did indeed arrive, but alas, had to be shipped right back for a different size - I think I've hit the swelling feet stage?
Home Improvement Tasks?
  1. Paint master bedroom (this, of course, requires everything being moved out of it first).
  2. Re-arrange master bedroom furniture to include baby stuff.
  3. Get baby stuff out of storage, wash it, and set it all up!  (I promise to chronicle this with before and afters)  :)
Discussion Question: In the spirit of the Olympic games, what is your favorite Olympic sport to watch (summer or winter)?  Summer: gymnastics.  Winter: figure skating.

Don't forget, my GIVEAWAY for the book "Loving Our Kids On Purpose" is still ongoing. Go HERE to enter for a chance to win a copy.

    1. Hey Brooke! Thanks for stopping by FMMV! Haha, yes, my belly has been the smallest it's been with all my pregnancies with this one! Not sure why though because she's measuring right on target with the whole "tape measure on the belly thing" and ultrasounds. :) And thank you so much, sweet friend!

      With love,
      Rebecca
