My Pregnancy Journal Week #23
Plus, a Reef Dream Sandals Review

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born, I set you apart.
Jeremiah 1:5

I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:27-28

How far along are you?  23 weeks today!
Baby's growth?  Naomi weighs just over a pound now!  She's also just over 11 inches long - about the size of a large mango.  :)  I'm so tickled that by this time she has a well established since of movement because that means she can feel me DANCE!  The husband and I have also begun seeing her squirm underneath my clothes with little *bump* *bump* *bumps!*  Which is undoubtedly my favorite part of pregnancy.  Feeling a life moving inside my womb is a miracle that never "gets old."   #ILoveBeingPregnant

Medical Stuff plus Prayer Requests: I still feel great, but...  My low back needs prayer. I may have a lumbar herniated disc. I've had one every pregnancy that has healed over time & with chiropractor assistance. I had L4 & L5 out of alignment a lot while I was a teenager (don't remember what initially caused it). I don't know if that made them more sensitive/susceptible during the physical changes of pregnancy or what, but whatever keeps repeatedly causing it needs to stop, and I need to be healed.  :)
Best moment this week? Our 21 month old, Lillian Hosanna, finally acknowledged my growing belly!  We've told her that there's a baby in Momma's belly for some time, and she's seen the rest of her family talk affectionately to Naomi as well.  At bedtime she pointed to belly from across the room (of which she was eye level of while standing, mmhmmm... *enter mommy eye*, on her toddler bed), and said happily, "Night, night baby!!"  She also said "Noommiii" at our prompting as well.  ;)
Cravings? This health nut downed an entire bar of chocolate, dipped into a third of a block of cream cheese because it felt like I couldn't breathe without it.  HA!
What made me cry this week?  My hormone levels have felt even this week, which is a HUGE answer to prayer.  It has just been my back hurting that has been the culprit of anything "emotional."
Sleep?  Sleep has been made more difficult due to being uncomfortable because of my low back.
Thoughts from the family?  My belly is a hand magnet.  :)
In addition?  Received the email yesterday that these beauties have been shipped & I can't hardly wait to receive them! I never pay full price for anything, so I scored these Reef Dream sandals for a steal off of eBay. So thankful because my back really needs the extra support right now, and with the mattress-inspired quilted PU foam footbed and anatomical arch support, they are the most comfortable and supportive sandals I've ever worn.
In case you might be interested in these sandals for yourself, you should know that they run small.  I typically wear a 7 to a 7.5, but when trying these on at a sporting goods store before ordering them off of eBay, discovered that I would need an 8.
Thank you Jesus for blessings!

  2. Cute picture! It is funny how much satisfaction you can get from eating a pregnancy craving. :) I am currently working on #4! I tend to be craving salty foods, though.
