My Pregnancy Journal ::Week #19::
Boy or Girl??? Plus, New Hair :)

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart.   {Jeremiah 1:5}

I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord.
{1 Samuel 1:27-28}

“Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is placed in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse into the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it’s soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny, –she would see that in all God’s world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her.” {JR Miller}

How far along are you?  19 weeks today!  Check out my growing baby bump!  :)

And check out my new hair!  What do you think?  I feel like I have stepped straight out of Vidal Sassoon.  ;)  Thank you to the brilliant Jon Kliegle at Dye Pretty Salon.

Baby's growth?  Head to rump, baby is about 6 inches long (about the size of a large heirloom tomato) and weighs almost 8.5 ounces!

Medical Stuff?  The ultrasound I received on Tuesday was a success all the way around.  Doctor said, "This is a very healthy baby! ...and you are a very hydrated mommy!"  HAhahaha! My next appointment will be at 21 weeks.

Best moment this week?  The ultrasound!
IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

We are very thrilled to know who she is & call her by name. :) Our fourth daughter, announced herself very clearly more than once. ♥

Cravings?  This week I have wanted Asian.  Every.  Day.  I only actually got to eat it once so far though.  Cravings cost money unfortunately.

What made me cry this week? I shared as a prayer request last week that our eldest daughter, Abigail, had taken a pretty big tumble at day camp and received a pretty bad concussion as a result.  It was very, very hard on my heart to care for her during this trial.  The hardest times were when she didn't act like herself and wasn't making any sense.  The most precious times were the cuddles and when her personality started to shine through again as she began to improve.  Thank you, friends, for lifting her up!!

Sleep?  Pretty much the same:  Sleeping well, just not enough.  I must be more intentional about going to bed earlier.

Thoughts from the family?  Our eldest, who is 7, was disappointed that she isn't going to have a baby brother this time around.  But the *pink* dinosaur (to signify a girl on the way) we bought her helped ease the sting.  Her good daddy explained to her that it is was okay to feel both disappointed and excited all at the same time.  That he felt that way too.  They both agreed that they can't wait to meet her.  :)

Prayer requests?  That Abigail's recovery will continue to be swift and complete from the concussion.  Thank you, friends.

  1. The picture of your daughters resting together made me smile. Sisters have a truly special bond (as I've been blessed to witness with my two girls.) I'm happy that you'll be adding a fourth to the mix soon :) Praise God that Abigail is on the mend!

    1. Awe, thank you! I could hardly believe it when they all three climbed up there together like that, haha. I rushed to take a picture! :)

      Thank you so much for the prayers and praises! Abigail continues to do exceedingly well in her recovery. :)

      With love,

  2. Love the new hair! It looks great!

    How exciting to find out you're having a girl; and you are giving her such a beautiful name!

    Glad to her your oldest is doing better; continued prayers for her.
