Stay Awake
::Five Minute Friday::

This week's word: Awake
Stay awake.
Never clock out, for the best you
Is always on duty, waiting to be tapped into.
The days get crowded.
The nights get cold.
You forget to open your eyes and so you move about like the old.
The old that have lost all sense of drive.
The old that stay asleep at the wheel instead of thrive.
Let us THRIVE in THIS day,
In THIS hour, in THIS way...
Let us use time wisely.
Let us not throw it away!
As we spend too much time computing,
and much less time in play.
Let us be present in the moment,
Each and every way, being thankful.
Let us stay awake.

  1. There are definitely times when I'm tempted to "clock out", especially when "the days get crowded", when life just seems so full and I want to say... Can't I just hide in my bedroom and escape for a little while? I get that. But I love these words..."Let us THRIVE in THIS day" and "Let us be present in the moment". Thank you for these words.

    1. Thank you Stacy! I totally agree. Yesterday was a day that not only was I tempted to "hide in my bedroom," but I actually did. Then God really used the 5 minute post to wake my soul up. ;)

  2. Too true - I have been challenged lately to live in the NOW,not dwell in the past or worry over the future. Thanks for sharing.
