The Simple Call of God
::Moms Against Manic Mondays::

"When we talk about the call of God, we often forget the most important thing, namely the nature of Him who calls.  There are many thing calling each of us today.  Some of these calls will be answered, and others will not even be heard.  The call of God is an expression of His nature, not a reflection of my own." --Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest

You were planned for God's pleasure --
"God has planted [his people] like strong and graceful oaks for His own glory."  --Isaiah 61:3  [LB]

"You, god, created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created."  --Revelation 4:11  [NLT]

"The Lord takes pleasure in His people."  --Psalm 149:4  [TEV]
The moment you were born into the world, God was there as an unseen witness, smiling at your birth!
"Because of His love, God had already decided that through Jesus Christ, He would make His children--this was His pleasure and purpose."  --Ephesians 1:5  [TEV]

"Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you."  --1 Kings 10:9  [NIV]

"The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing."  --Zephaniah 3:17  [AMPLIFIED]

He delights in you!  Bringing pleasure to God is called "worship."  :) Worship is our response, both personal and corporate, to God for who He is and what He has done and will do.  Expressed in by the contents of our heart, by the things we say/sing, and the way we live.  Worship is our response to God.  In other words, we don't initiate worship, God does.  He reveals; we respond.  He discloses; we respond.  He unveils; we respond.  Our whole relationship with God works the same way: He loves; we love in return.  He calls; we answer.  He leads; we follow.
"I will thank the Lord at all times.  My mouth will always praise Him."  --Psalm 34:1  [GWT]

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."  --1 Corinthians 10:31  [NIV]

"Whatever you do, work it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."  --Colossians 3:23  [NIV]

"Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life - and place it before God as an offering."  --Romans 12:1  [THE MESSAGE]

  1. I'm gonna do this. I'm going to join your monday madness adventure. before midnight or next will, lord willing :)

    1. make that next week, since I'm already behind a day. Today is Titus2day, not monday...lol

    2. Yay! :) Yeah... I did them both in one post, lol.

    3. Oh Rebecca. I was coming over to say thank you again for this post. I'm repeating over and over in my mind and heart to be present now. slow down & enjoy this second and not be anxious of anything else-->this is hard. As I was skimming over our last few comments I realized that when I said "Today is Titus2sday, not monday" I meant that I was confused about the day--not that you made any mistake :( I'm so sorry if that came across in a rude way that offended you. Please forgive me for not being careful with my words. I really enjoy your blog, you are the only blog author that I know in real life--so that makes it super cool too :) Anyway--see you Saturday?

I'm thrilled you've stopped by for a visit! I hope you feel as though we're sittin' together on my front porch while drinkin' somethin' warm; simply sharin' life with transparency. :)
